How to change the number of rings on a home phone?

I have this phone locked up in the garage for about 5 years, and I finally use it.. It looks kind of new, and in good condition.. How do I change the number of rings on this phone? I don't know what brand is it.. It only say cordless phone Digital answer or something like that. But it's a white phone.. Can anybody help me? What is announce and memo means on a phone?How to change the number of rings on a home phone?
Do you mean how to change the number of rings before the answering machine section picks up the call? It will depend entirely upon the model. Some machines might have a small switch somewhere (check on the sides and underneath) to select 2 rings, 4 rings, etc. On many newer models you have to set it as a menu option by pressing various combinations of the buttons. Without knowing what type of unit it is, it's impossible to be any more precise.



';Announce'; generally refers to your outgoing message. Some machines have an announce-only option where they answer the call, play your outgoing message, but then hang up without giving the caller a chance to record a message.



';Memo'; generally refers to a facility where you can record a message locally as if it were from an incoming call, i.e. a verbal note to remind yourself about something, or a message which another family member calling in later to retrieve messages remotely will hear.
