I want to change my mobile phone number?

I am on the network O2 and I want to change my number without getting a new sim card. How could I do this? Would I have to ring O2 helpline or something?I want to change my mobile phone number?
you`ll need to contact them, to change your phone, but i don`t get it why you wanna keep the sim, if it`s the numbers saved on it, just copy them on your phone , and then you can buy a new number like usual with new sim.I want to change my mobile phone number?
Yes; you'll need to call O2.
as far as i know its not possible, i mean what's the use, if you want another number on the same sim card you have to go down to the support centre and your numbers will be lost, so its better to buy a new one
call costomer service i dont think its a problem to change numbers without changing sim cards
depends if you are on a contract or pay as you go and why you want to change.

Contract - phone 202

PAYG - phone 4445

website http://www.consumerdeals.co.uk/o2contact.html gives all phone numbers.

but in all honesty if it is a Pay as you Go , by the time you have paid for the calls to contact O2 - it would work out cheaper to buy a new sim card , if you check online I am sure you can pick them up for free.

If a contract phone then you will have to speak to them to change the number ( they may charge you )
if you are Pay As You Go you simply pick up a new SIM from the O2 store.

if you are on contract you dial O@ and ask them for anew NUmber and they send you a new SIM.

Changing your number is NOT possible without changing the SIM.

you can copy the contents of your SIM (messages and numbers) onto your phone (so that you lose nothing) then copy them back when you have done.

ITS NOT POSSIBLE WITHOUT CHANGING SIM!!
call o2 and explain why you want to change your number if you are getting nuisance calls they will change it for free
Ok the sim card is the chip that stores your phone number and contacts and messages on, you get it from your network provider and it's what is needed to be able to use network services. Each sim card has a unique phone number assigned to it, and whatever network services you use are assigned to the phone number on that sim. If you want to keep your old sim and get a new number on it, then you're gonna have to call O2 and go through some lengthy procedures to cancel the phone number on that sim, and get a new number put on it.

BUT you're saying you only want to keep the old sim 'cos it's got the Unlimited Texts on it. These texts won't stay on the sim, they're assigned to the old phone number, all network services you were using before are saved to that old phone number. So you'll lose any services you had saved to that number/account. New number = new account = assign new network services. You'll need to assign everything to it again.

So you can get a new number put on the same sim card and add the Unlimited Texts on it, or you can do the much more easier thing which is to get a new sim card, free from the O2 website, and opt in for Unlimited Texts on that. To do this, you need to set yourself up on the Text Anytime tariff and to opt in for this, when you get your new sim card you

- text TEXTANYTIME to 21300 free or

- Call 2425 free or

- Opt in online here http://www.o2.co.uk/mobilestariffs/tarif

Hope this helped, email me if you need more help.
