How do you change a phone number in verizon to another phone?

I know that you have to replace the esn, but i dont want to pay any money to have anyone do it for me. Does anyone have any directions how to do this? I am looking for directions for the verizonwireless website.How do you change a phone number in verizon to another phone?
THe primary account holder can do this by logging on and registering on the Verizon Wireless website. Once on the website, go under MY ACCOUNT, MY PHONE, and there will be a link that says activate phone....Click on the link, enter the mobile number that you are switching and the ESN of the new phone, and then OK....



I just recieved a new cell phone in the mail, and those are the directions that I followed... ONce the phone gets activated, then you have to do the *228, and then the phone will program....How do you change a phone number in verizon to another phone?
don't you just take the sim card out of the one phone and put it in another?
take out ur sim card and put in in ur new phone
