I just changed my phone number and wanted to know how long does it take for a cell phone number change to go into effect?Cell phone number change ?

How did you do it? You probably need a new SIM card, and your phone may need to be reprogrammed.... and then it should work right away in most cases.
The phone number change can take effect with in a few minutes or up to 24 hours depending on how slow their switch is. If their switch is overloaded with transactions than it can cause the number change to take longer.
