What to do about changing my phone number ?

Up until last week hardly no-one ever called our house phone . Now all of a sudden someone( unknown) rings the house phone at least every 3 hours , they start at around 9am and they stop at about 8 pm ... Sometimes i miss the call and a few times i have answered it, and they hang up, when i say hello and it's starting to test my patience... i dialed *10# to call back the number but it was a private number ...



and no-one has given our number out, i have 3 young kids under 6 so its not them. Its not my fiance either, because the ( unknown ) person would know that he works nights and sleeps during the day . and he has a mobile , so im sure they would just call that .



In the last month or so, we have had telemarketing places call us, but they don't hang up when i say hello



If i want to change my house phone number, how do i go about doing that ? does it cost anything to do so ? does it cost extra to have a private phone number ?

Just call the phone company. If the call is coming from the same number, the phone company can block that number from calling you (even if it's blocked for you, they know who's calling). You don't need to change your number.What to do about changing my phone number ?

how about caller id?
Call the phone company and tell them whats going on. They have the ability to see who's calling you and will give you that number. But you might want them to do an investigation....then change your number.
call phone company ask...... sure it's not a girlfriend ? just asking cause it seems fishy. you miss dial once you don't keep calling it harassing the people for what?
