How do i stop my cell phone number from changing?

i was recently calling verizon customer service and i accidentally changed my phone number. is there anyway to stop it? they said it would officialy change seven days from now.How do i stop my cell phone number from changing?
how did you manage that? you have to tell them you want it changed and when you do they change it right then. they dont wait 7 days
