It wont cost you anything to change out your phone. It used to a while ago. You can change out phones as much as you want. Their are 3 options for changing your phone now.



#1: turn off the current activated phone, power on the phone you want to activate and dial *228 then pick option 3. It will ask for the number you want to activate and then your password or last 4 of your social.



#2: Go to http://verizonwireless.com create an account or sign in with your current account and look under quick links on the right hand side of the page for activate phone, you will have to get the MEID/ESN number off the back of the phone you are trying to activate. Once you submit the MEID/ESN number you will have to dial *228 option 1 to activate your phone.



#3: Call 1-800-922-0204 talk to a customer care representative and they will change it for you.

15.00. Unless you have moved to another address with another area code or if you are receiving harassing calls. Then they will credit it back.
activating the new phone is free. dial *228 from the new phone while your old phone is turned off.
You can also do it online through ';My Verizon'; (verizonwireless.com) at any time for free. Just enter the ESN and some other information (usually found under the battery of the phone).
